Behind the Scene
Iva Lulić does not use computer manipulation in her work but directs each photography very carefully so her projects require a great amount of preparation, and difficulties that come with it.
Shooting, in nature, is an unfortunate venture, it’s very beautiful to the eye, but at the same time nature is so non-photogenic, it's hard to show through a camera. The search for the location of the shooting is, therefore, an important aspect in the conception of the development of the idea, it is necessary to find the landscapes that meet the needs of story legends and those aesthetic, both in a photographic sense and Iva's own liking. Driving and walking often lasts for weeks. Once found, established shooting locations and found personnel matching a particular mythological being or scene, it is necessary to match the weather, models, and assistants simultaneously. In such situations, it always depends on something that cannot be controlled. When the conditions are ideal, the time range for the shooting is reduced to a lightweight sunset and sunset clock. The increased number of things that need to be brought to nature is a separate problem. Costumes and props for the scenery, lighting and aggregates, all the big and small items are carefully arranged in and out of the car; often in the wings of unmatched models and assistants. "It's not all so black, we regularly find ourselves in the unpredictable situations that spice life for me and the whole team", says Iva.
