Vedovnjaks (Mogut, in some areas) are old men with long beards, piercing eyes, wearing long white robes and a cape, having long sticks with a lot of small bags with potions in them.
They walked from village to village helping people. They talked with the fairies, the veds and the souls of the deceased, healed people and animals, defended the villages from hailstones and frost, and they could see the past and the future. They were also herbalists. They understood the language of all animals, and they were able to foresee peoples' destiny.
They were mostly poor wanderers, but were very esteemed, and considered as sacred people.
They transferred their knowledge to only one chosen heir when they were at least eighty years old. Knowledge transfer took place suddenly, not by gradual learning.
Vedovnjaks fought between each other, they were good and evil ones, but, when they fought, it was always in some animal form, usually form of a bull.
